The Hunger Games is a film set in a dystopian society in which social classes are separated into 12 districts and two contenders from each district are chosen each year to battle to the death in a televised arena. When her younger sister Prim is chosen for the Hunger Games, the main character, who is from the lowest social class in District 12, decides to serve as a tribute. In this film, there are numerous indicators to be seen. For example, the protagonist Katniss resembles a Mockingjay, a symbol of liberation and independence. This is reinforced by the dress worn in a particular sequence in the film.
